This week we raise a toast to the final day of “24.” Fox announced that this will be “24”s last season. (Although the movie version is being written.) One of our favorite parts of season 8 has been Katee Sackhoff as Dana Walsh. We always like when the traitor is a gorgeous blonde—bad guys can be fun!

Katee Sackoff grew up in Oregon where she was an excellent swimmer. She planned on going pro until a knee injury sidelined her. But this gave her the chance to focus on acting, which she did in several school plays. Her interest in acting continued to grow and brought her to Los Angeles. She won several small movie rolls before landing a role on the new “Battlestar Galactica.” Katee has also guest starred on “The Big Bang Theory” and “Robot Chicken.”

But we appreciate Katee Sackhoff most for her role as Kara Thrace (a.k.a. Starbuck) on “Battlestar Galactica.” Kara loved to smoke cigars, drink and have sex. She also played a mean game of cards and was also considered Galactica’s best pilot. What more could a guy want in his co-captain?! Katee did a great job of bringing Kara to life and we continue to miss her. At least Starbuck will be on DVD forever for us to relive each one of her fights and sexy moments.

This week we salute Captain Starbuck and especially the Sci-Fi Babe who embodied her—Katee Sackoff. We look forward to your next mission!
