The return of “V” this week reminded us how much we adore the Visitor’s head alien, Anna, played by Morena Baccarin. We know we’re not supposed to like her, but sometimes she looks so angelic with her huge brown eyes. Yet she always seems to be up to no good. Sometimes the bad guy, or girl in this case, is the one to watch. We’d climb on her ship any day!
Morena Baccarin has exotic dark features due to the fact she is 100% Brazilian. She moved with her family to Greenwich Village in New York City when she was 7 years old. Morena attended a Performing Arts high school before becoming a theater major at Juilliard. Before moving to LA, she landed a few small movie roles.
Morena first became a Sci-Fi Babe back in 2002 when she joined the cast of Joss Whedon’s “Firefly.” She played the tough, yet refined Inara Serra during the short-lived series and in the movie version, “Serenity” as well. Morena kept busy as a guest on many sitcoms until 2006, when “Stargate SG-1” recruited her for the 10th season role of Adria–another villain leader.
We are delighted that Morena Baccarin has consistently stayed a Sci-Fi Babe in so many juicy roles. And she’s looked hot with long flowing hair and a pixie haircut—not every girl can pull that off! Even when she’s playing a bad guy, we can’t help but want to watch, and maybe even root for her a little. Morena we salute you and look forward to you leading many more Sci-Fi armies!
