Sci-Fi Babe of the Week for 4.19.10 – Liv Tyler

The release of “The Lord of the Rings” Trilogy on Blu-ray this month made us think of our favorite elf princess, Arwen Undómiel and the beauty who plays her, Liv Tyler. Although it seems Liv has been out of the spotlight, we’re happy to report Liv will be appearing in three films over the next year including (rumor has it) horror flick “The Strangers 2.”

This dark haired girl with the fabulous lips has a rock star heritage. Liv’s father is Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler. She didn’t know that until she was 9 years old since her mother model and Babe in her own right, Bebe Buell lied because Steven was a drug addict at the time of her birth. Liv’s life story sounds like a movie!

Liv Tyler’s beauty landed her a modeling gig when she was just 14. She starred in a few commercials and decided to focus on acting. Her father helped by casting her in Aerosmith’s video for “Crazy” with Alicia Silverstone—a double dose of Babes! Although Liv never took acting lessons, she began to land plenty of movie roles.

Liv truly became a Sci-Fi Babe in 1998 when she starred in “Armageddon.” We like to watch her as the sweet girls she played in “Empire Records,” “Stealing Beauty” and “That Thing You Do!” But we can watch and re-watch Ms. Tyler as the ethereal Arwen in “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy. The girl learned Tolkien’s fictitious Elvish language to play the part, which shows how devoted this Babe is to her craft.

We really are happy to hear we’ll be seeing more of Liv Tyler on the big screen in the near future. But for now we’ll just turn on an old Liv movie and get lost in her eyes.
