Here at Sci-Fi Babez we love discovering new hot Babez, but sometimes it’s nice to remember some of our favorite classic Babez as well. This week we turn our attention to one of our all time favorite redheads—Gillian Anderson. Dang, we miss her on the “X-Files.”
Gillian Anderson was born in Chicago in 1968. She moved around a lot as a child—including a stay in London, where her father attended film school. (To this day, Gillian sometimes speaks with an English accent.) Although she was more interested in science when she was younger, she began acting in high school productions before deciding to pursue a BA in acting in college.
At age 20, Gillian moved to NY and landed several prestigious roles in theater. Four years later, her ambitious nature led her to move across the country to Los Angeles. Her first mainstream role was on a show on the brand new Fox Network called “Class of ’96.” This guest appearance was enough for someone at Fox to take notice, because was sent the script for “X-Files.” The problem was that Fox wanted someone with more acting experience and sex appeal, which is tough to imagine now!
Producer Chris Carter continued to stand by Gillian—thinking she was the perfect woman to play Agent Dana Scully—and she was eventually given the part. At the time, Gillian expected to do 13 episodes, but “The X-Files” became a phenomenon and went on for 9 seasons and 2 feature films. Gillian played a smart skeptic, and we loved seeing her keep Mulder on his toes!
After “The X-Files”, Gillian has continued acting on stage and in films. FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women poll named Gillian Anderson one of the “Sexiest Woman in the World” for 1996 and in their “Sexiest Hall of Fame” list in 2008.
“The X-Files” truly was one of the best sci-fi shows television has given us and Gillian Anderson is one of the most beautiful, brainy FBI agents ever! We hope to see this babe back on the big or small screen soon—we know Gillian has a lot more to show us!
